What should I do before adding Dazzle?

Before adding Dazzle, make sure your pool is set up for the best possible result. Check that your pump and filter are running properly, clean out your skimmer and pump baskets, and ensure the water level is correct.

We also recommend using Dazzle alongside a shock dose of chlorine, as Dazzle works in conjunction with chlorine to help kill algae and bacteria more effectively.

For best results, your water should be balanced:

  • pH ideally between 7.0 and 7.4
  • Chlorine levels:
    • Green pool: ~10 ppm
    • Cloudy pool: ~5 ppm
  • Stabiliser (CYA) no higher than 50 ppm

High stabiliser levels can reduce chlorine effectiveness (often referred to as “chlorine lock”), which can limit how well the treatment works.

If you’re unsure how to balance your water, you can use our pool dosing calculator to quickly work out what adjustments are needed: [Insert calculator link]

Finally, remove any large debris such as leaves before treatment so Dazzle can focus on the finer contaminants and deliver a much clearer finish.

How do I balance my pool water for the best results with Dazzle?

For Dazzle to deliver the best possible results, your pool water should be properly balanced before treatment.

We recommend aiming for the following:

  • pH between 7.0 and 7.4
  • Chlorine levels:
    • Green pool: around 10 ppm
    • Cloudy pool: around 5 ppm
  • Stabiliser (CYA) no higher than 50 ppm

Keeping your water within these ranges allows chlorine to work effectively alongside Dazzle, helping to kill algae and bacteria while Dazzle clears and binds contaminants.

If your levels are outside these ranges, adjust them first before adding Dazzle. For an easy way to calculate what your pool needs, use our pool dosing calculator.

How much Dazzle do I need to use?

Dazzle is designed as a one-shot treatment, so it’s important to use the correct dose for your pool size. Always follow the dosing instructions on the tub based on your pool volume. Using too little may reduce effectiveness, while using more will not significantly improve results and is unnecessary.

For best results, ensure your water is properly balanced before adding Dazzle and follow the full treatment process, including vacuuming to waste.

Using the correct dose ensures Dazzle can fully bind and remove contaminants, leaving your pool clear and sparkling. To get the most accurate results, use our pool dosing calculator, and follow our step-by-step usage guides linked below.

What size pool is Dazzle designed for?

Dazzle is designed to work across a wide range of pool sizes, from small residential pools through to large commercial pools. Each tub contains enough product to treat a specific volume of water, so it’s important to match the dose to your pool size. Always refer to the dosing instructions on the packaging to ensure you’re using the correct amount.

If you’re unsure of your pool volume or how much to use, you can use our pool volume calculator and pool dosing calculator to get it right.

Using the correct dose ensures Dazzle performs at its best and delivers a clear, consistent result.

Can Dazzle be used to treat a green pool?

Yes — Dazzle is specifically designed to treat green pools and restore water clarity.

Dazzle works in conjunction with chlorine to kill algae and bind contaminants, allowing them to settle to the pool floor where they can be removed by vacuuming. For best results with a green pool, ensure your chlorine level is raised to around 10 ppm before treatment and your water is properly balanced. You may notice the water change colour or become cloudy during the process — this is normal and a sign the treatment is working.

Once the debris has settled, vacuuming to waste will remove it from the pool, leaving the water crystal clear and clean.

Heavily affected pools may take slightly longer or require extra care during vacuuming, but Dazzle is designed to handle even challenging conditions.
